Color or B&W Internal Video Assist for Aaton LTR (Reg16 or Super16)
The CCD image
sensor and video assist electronics are mounted inside the camera
body. The power necessary to supply the video assist is taken
internally from the camera's 4 pin XLR power input receptacle.
You can use an on-board battery in a regular way without an
adapter. Our internal installation will give you a picture that
is brighter than that of the external one because the CCD image
sensor is installed closer to the beamsplitter.
Specificationsfor the color unit:
- SONY CCD image sensor
- Signal system: NTSC
or PAL
- Picture elements:
NTSC 768(H) x 494(V), PAL 752(H) x 582(V)
- Scanning system: NTSC
- 525 lines, PAL - 625 lines, 2:1 interlace

resolution: 470 TV lines
- Min. illumination:
0.8 Lux, F1.2 AGC: ON
- BNC video output

- White balance (WB)
control 2 position switch. When set to the lower
position, the white balance is in auto mode (AWB is on).
When set to the upper position, the white balance is in
constant color temperature mode (CCT). The CCT mode
remembers the last color palette that was set in the
lower position (last palette in AWB mode); the palette
will remain constant even if the color temperature of the
light source changes. To calibrate the white level for a
particular color temperature, you will need to put a
white sheet of paper in front of the camera lens and set
the switch to the lower position for about 3 sec. Then
turn it to the upper position to activate the CCT mode.
The color palette will be set after this procedure .
- AGC/CCD IRIS control
switch: 3 position switch which
controls the CCD IRIS and AGC on/off
- Lower: AGC
control is OFF (0dB) and CCD IRIS control is OFF
- Middle: AGC control (max 14dB) is ON and CCD IRIS
control is OFF
- Upper: AGC control is OFF (0dB) and CCD IRIS control is
ON
- LED power indicator
- Power on/off switch: when in upper position, the video
power is ON and the red LED is lit; when in lower
position, the video power is OFF and the red LED is not
lit.
- Power requirement: 12
to 17V DC (from the camera's battery)
- Power consumption:
2.4 W (200mA/12V)
- the color unit
with digital control:
- Power on/off switch
(2 position):
- Left: the video
assist is ON and the red LED is lit.
- Right: power is OFF
and the red LED is not lit.
- Digital control by
decimal switch:
"0" - Auto
Gain Control (AGC) is ON (gain max: 18 dB), and CCD IRIS
is ON. This is the automatic exposure control setting.
"1" - AGC
is OFF (gain: 0 dB), and CCD IRIS is ON. Use this setting
when the image is
overexposed (bright light).
"2" - AGC
is ON, and CCD IRIS is OFF. Use this setting when
shooting in low light.
"3" - AGC
is OFF, and CCD IRIS is OFF.
"4" - Same
as "0" but with back light compensation.
"5" - Same
as "1" but with back light compensation.
"6" - Same
as "2" but with back light compensation.
"7" - Same
as "3" but with back light compensation.
"8" -
Automatic exposure control, white balance setting.
"9" - CCD
IRIS is ON, white balance setting.
To calibrate the white
level for a particular color temperature, you will need to put a
white sheet of paper in front of the camera lens and set the
decimal switch to "9" or "8" for about 3 sec.
Then set it to "0" or "7", respectively. The
color palette will be set after this procedure.

Flickerfree
Color Integrated Video Assist for Aaton LTR
This
flickerfree color video assist is designed to produce a
flickerfree monitor image for camera speeds above 10 fps and
gives you the best possible image (brightness and contrast) for
the Aaton LTR camera because the high sensitivity EXview HAD CCD
image sensor is mounted just behind the camera's pellicle beam
splitter. All original AATON connectors are accessible. The
on-board battery can be used only with a power adapter.

The flicker
reduction switch (3 position):
- When set to the lower position, flickerfree mode FF is
activated and the green LED is lit. This mode is designed to
produce a 100% flickerfree video image for camera speeds above
10fps.

the green LED is not lit. The video assist is in normal mode.
- NTSC - When set to the upper position, flickerfree mode FF30 is
activated and the green LED is lit. This mode provides the best
possible 100% flickerfree image when operating at a camera speed
of 29.97 fps or 30 fps. In this mode, flickering is reduced by
70% for camera speeds other than 29.97 fps and 30 fps.
PAL - When set to the upper position, flickerfree mode FF24/25 is
activated and the green LED is lit. This mode provides the best
possible 100% flickerfree image when operating at a camera speed
of 24 fps or 25 fps.
Flickerfree modes FF , FF30 (NTSC) and FF24/25 (PAL) will only be
active when the camera is running. Once the camera is stopped,
normal mode will resume.
